The Aliyah Suite by Dali, commissioned by the State of Israel for its 5th anniversary of Independence, is on exhibit at the Monterey History and Art Association.

Two Wonderful Reds...
A wonderful Cab - AND - a Cab Franc blend!
Let's start with the 2008 Estate Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon from Alexander Conn Valley Vineyards. The tasting notes reveal: Lots of sweet black fruit, ripe blackberries, Bing cherries, dark chocolate, ripe red rose and their crushed petals with hints of licorice and cigar box; sweet tannins with hints of cedar, coffee and chocolate cake; great intensity, full bodied with a multi-layered mouth feel. The smooth after taste and lingering finish should make this wine better for 12-16 years and then hold for another ten plus after that!
Followed by the Chateau Lassegue Les Cadrans de Lassegue Grand Cru 2015. This cab franc blend is described as a very beautiful deep and brilliant red color with spices on the nose. A lot of finesse on the palate with nutmeg and white pepper flavors. A very balanced wine that develops a good length on the palate and a mineral finish. Fine and persistent tannins. This vintage of Les Cadrans can age 5 to 10 years.

From Napa Valley, a 2017 Far Niente Chardonnay, 100% barrel fermented and aged in French oak, with aromas of melon, hazelnut, orange, and spice complimented with toasty shadings. Layered palate of fig and citrus fruit with impressive length and a mouthwatering finish.
From the Russian River Valley, a 2014 Williams Selyem Pinot Noir, exhibits dark cherry and cinnamon spice at its core. Faded rose, nutmeg and allspice complement the subtle notes of porcini and Oolong tea. Tightly wound on the palate at first, the wine expands out onto the mid-palate to deliver some wonderfully refreshing red fruits, citrus, and tea-like tannins. With its polish and grace, this wine exemplifies the beauty and power of a Russian River Valley Pinot Noir.
